One key block to receiving and manifesting

Have you ever wondered what the key block to receiving is i.e. why it is so difficult for you to receive, why it seems like a struggle to have and enjoy what you want or be ok to feel the pleasures in life?

Unsafety blocks us from receiving pleasure and manifesting in our lives.

In psychology, safety refers to a state where an individual feels secure and free from threats or harm. When individuals feel safe, their bodies are less likely to be in a state of stress or anxiety.

Our nervous system has a pattern of safety or unsafety given our past, from our childhood to our ancestral to our past-life traumas. Our DNA records our ancestral trauma and this affects our nervous system.

If you grew up in an unsupportive and/or abusive environment where you did not feel safe, with beliefs such as you are not deserving, you have to struggle, etc., these are beliefs that your nervous system took on.

In such cases, it may be difficult for you to feel safe in the world, because you were taught that the world is unsafe and you were unworthy.

So, it may be challenging for you to “receive” from the universe. You may find yourself struggling a lot to get what you want in life, and you may find “numbness,” “struggle,“ “fight,” “unsafety,” and “heaviness” to be your baseline vibration.

Even if an opportunity presents itself to you (those you think are “too good to be true”), you may subconsciously try to sabotage the opportunity because that opportunity is beyond your baseline (what you are comfortable with).

You may talk yourself out of your deservingness, with thoughts like “I am not worthy. There are so many people who went for it, why did they pick me, etc” instead of having the capacity to receive the opportunity as a blessing.

For example, you may be dreaming of this dream person or even dream job for a while. And, when that person or that job actually shows up for you, you may “freak out,” procrastinate and/or sabotage that connection/job because this connection/job is not what your nervous system is used to.

Feeling safe and worthy is so important in our capacity to receive from the universe and feel pleasure. Because when you feel safe/worthy in your body, you get out of your own way in your capacity to receive.

Feeling safe is also key to not sabotaging the opportunities in life that you desire.

I’ve found the most useful way to receive is to expand your capacity to feel all your emotions at any given moment (all feelings are welcomed), and re-pattern your nervous system so you feel safe in your body.

To expand beyond your capacity to receive, you need to 1) let your nervous system know that you are safe and 2) increase your capacity to feel.

And, you may avoid feelings because you’re worried they are never-ending abyss that you can never climb out of. But feelings are temporary, they may seem like they can be forever, but they aren’t.

When you feel all your emotions, you become a channel to receive.

In short, what we want is usually out of our comfort zone. What we want is usually unfamiliar and unsafe to our nervous system. By learning how to be safe in our body and increasing our ability to feel, we expand our capacity to receive, manifest, and enjoy life.

A short tip to let your nervous system know that you’re safe is to lie on the floor, and drop into the ground. Feel the floor supporting you (from your legs to your head), and then when you feel the urge to press yourself up, do so, and press yourself up from the floor, really feeling the sensation of the ground beneath you.
