My Personal Transformation Journey: Before & After Pics

Who says we can’t get better with age? 😉 These pictures are going to tell you my story.

In my early 20’s, I was 10+ pounds heavier. Fresh out of college, I was stressed out and anxious. To top it off, I was eating processed foods, even as I tried to eat the “right” diet to lose weight. I continued to gain weight despite working out consistently,  had bad skin, and low self-esteem.

I ate tons of oil, dairy, decadent chocolate cake dripped in butter. I thought I was eating healthy, but I was overweight, stressed out, and sad. I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t lose weight and broke out like bee hives. I was bloated and constipated.

And… fast forward to now, after few years of traveling around the world and chasing wind to kitesurf, I lost 10 pounds+ and kept them off mainly by doing yoga, pilates, weights, surfing, kitesurfing, boxing, etc and changing my diet. My body has changed dramatically, from my hair to my skin to my body shape to my posture, and more…

I’d like to share with you what I’ve done in my journey to wellness:

#1: Yoga improved my flexibility and posture, rewired my thought patterns, and taught me to be listen to my body and be mindful of what I eat. As I progressed in my yoga practice, my diet changed.

Pilates improved my core strength and posture.

Weightlifting literally lifted my booty and sculpted my back.

Kitesurfing and surfing taught me to follow my joy, is a total body workout, and prompted me to travel the world.

The weight loss leaned out my cheeks and jawline. Working out is also great for your skin because it increases blood flow to your face.

Through this journey, I am forever thankful the management team, amazing instructors, personal trainers from Pure Fitness who helped me transformed my body. I am also thankful to Bruce Muzik, whom I met through kitesurfing, for introducing me to the world of self development and helping me process my emotions.

#2: My diet changed. I started eating more and more unprocessed whole foods, and gradually lessened the amount of processed foods, dairy, and meat in my diet.

#3: And as my diet changed, I also became more sensitive spiritually and started meditating and became more mindful than before.

#4: I also learned to pose and became more confident in my body.

#5:  As a result of the above, I changed the way I present myself, move, and act.

I follow my lifestyle and principles, extracted from experts (and some I’ve interviewed for the site).

I do *not* focus on caloric restriction, but I focus on eating a lot of organic vegetables (mainly raw), keeping meals simple and limiting, if not cutting out, processed foods.

As you can see, I speak from personal experience. I have been there too.
